Demetra logo tone change!

Demetra Cabinetry design is towards contemporary styles with European cabinets solutions, as well as smart solutions on our hardwares/accessories and eco friendly solutions on the material selections.

That’s why the decision of changing our logo color tones comes in place! We decided to use bright orange and dark blue to replace the original dark burgandy and grey tone.
Orange is a power color. It is one of the healing colors. It also stimulates enthusiasm and creativity. Orange means vitality with endurance. People who like orange are usually thoughtful and sincere. Blue symbolizes the Virgin Mary. A pure blue is the color of inspiration, sincerity and spirituality. Blue is often the chosen color by conservative people. Blue is the calming color. That makes it a wonderful color to use in the home, especially for babies

Enthusastic, creative, sincere, thoughtful is what our Demetra Culture Value is developed towards!

Making Adjustment on frameless cabinets!

While we take great care to ensure that your cabinetry arrives in excellent condition, normal shipping and handling can sometimes result in the need for adjustments after installation. Most often, you will find that you (or your contractor) will need to fine-tune your cabinetry after the installation. After all the cabinets have been installed plumb and level, place doors and drawers back on the cabinets. Install doors and make hinge adjustments so reveals between doors and drawers are equal. Make these adjustments before installing pulls or knobs.
INSTALLATION AND REMOVAL OF CABINET DOORS
Your cabinet doors come with easy-release hinges that allow for easy removal and re-attachment without the need for tools.
Detach doors by depressing the release tab shown in the diagrams blow.
Reattach doors by lining the hinge to the mounting plate and applying pressure to the back of the hinge near the release tab. You will hear a click once the latch is re-engaged.

ADJUSTING
DOORS
Your Demetra Cabinetry comes with 6-way adjustable hinges. These adjustable hinges allow you to shift the doors left to right, up or down, and in and out as shown in the diagrams below. This allows you to dial in the proper alignment with only a screw driver.

ADJUSTING
DRAWER
FRONTS
Drawer fronts can be adjusted for proper alignment. If you are installing handles that will require you to drill through the drawer box, be sure to align the drawer fronts first.
Adjustments are made by loosing the two screws securing the drawer front to the drawer box. Once the screws are loosened, you will be able to move the drawer front up and down, right or left and a few degrees clockwise or counter clockwise. Once you have achieved the desired positioning, tighten the adjustment screws to lock the drawer front into position. To avoid cracking the drawer front or stripping the screws, be careful not to over tighten the screws. Photobucket

Demetra Cabinetry is proud to offer strong, durable, and environmentally friendly bamboo kitchen and bath cabinets!

* Sustainable , Fast regeneration Material

Bamboo has also gained a reputation as an eco-friendly, highly renewable source of material. Compared to wood it grows much faster because bamboo is a grass not a wood. Bamboo can grow up to 47 inches in 24 hours and 78½ feet high in 40 to 50 days. It takes about 3–5 years for bamboo to reach full maturity. On the other hand, a pole of bamboo can regenerate to its full mass in just six months! Bamboo can be continuously re-harvested every 3 years, without causing damage to the plant system and surrounding environment. During the time it takes to regenerate, the bamboo plant’s root system stays intact so erosion is prevented. Continuous harvesting of this woody grass every 3-7 years, actually improves the overall health of the plant… Traditional hard woods can take 20 – 120 years to mature. In the meantime, there is less oxygen produced, less carbon dioxide consumed, and more soil runoff in the spot where that tree was harvested – all producing negative environmental effects.

It is believed that if bamboo were planted on a mass basis it could completely reverse the effects of global warming in just 6 years, and provide a renewable source of food, building material, and erosion prevention.

* Strength and Durability

Bamboo is a fascinating material due to its incredible strength, regenerative properties, and its natural aesthetic beauty. In structural engineering tests, bamboo has a higher tensile strength than many alloys of steel, and a higher compressive strength than many mixtures of concrete. It even has a higher strength to weight ratio than graphite.

Bamboo has been used as the standard building material for the majority of the world for thousands of years. There are many examples of buildings constructed entirely of bamboo, which are now several hundred years old. Due to their strength, these structures have even withstood 9.0 magnitude earthquakes.

* Demetra’s afforable price

Customers shopping for custom cabinets are paying upwards of $20K. While budgetted, ready-to-assemble cabinet solutions are not sturdy (not something you ideally would want to have built into your home) and come with poor quality finishes.

At Demetra Cabinetry, our mission is to provide affordable, euro-style / frameless, semi-custom kitchen and bath cabinets that truly fit your lifestyle for years to come, to provide our customers with the best cabinet shopping experience possible – from the initial visit online or in the showroom to enjoying our cabinetry in your home.

$100 says you know someone who needs cabinets

We are excited to announce our new referral program! You will receive $100 when you refer someone to us and they purchase over $5,000 (pretax) in kitchen or bath cabinets, granite countertops, etc. What would you do with an extra $100? 🙂

New Kitchen Display in Shaker Dark Cherry

Our new kitchen display is up!  Shaker style is currently a popular contemporary look that blends modern style with subtle hints of traditional lines. Our frameless, Euro-style cabinet bodies allow for flush doors and drawers for a clean look. We chose Arabesco Samoa for our granite countertop as it seemed the most versatile if we decide to switch the doors for a darker chocolate color. Now we just need to install the handles and get some decor in there to liven that space up. Would be nice if we had a functioning stove to do some cooking demonstrations. 🙂

How to Measure Your Kitchen

Many customers have come to us with questions on how to measure a kitchen. It’s quite easy: we basically need the size of your walls. We don’t need sizes or measurements of your existing cabinets; give us your walls and we are good.

To get started, you will need the following:

  • measuring tape
  • graph paper
  • a pencil
  • and maybe an extra person to help you out

Step 1

To begin measuring, start at a corner. When you draw your layout, draw it as if you are a fly on the ceiling looking down. (See example above.) Make sure to account for measurements of any obstacles such as soffits or beams that could impede cabinet space as well.

Measure horizontally.

  1. Measure the length of the wall from one end to the other.
  2. Measure from the wall to the window jamb.
  3. Measure the window or opening with the jamb.
  4. Mark location of your center lines for water, drain, gas, and exhaust.

Measure vertically.

  1. Measure the height from floor to window sill.
  2. Measure the height of your window or opening.
  3. Measure from window jamb to ceiling.
  4. Measure from floor to ceiling and calculate to make sure all the numbers total the same amount.

Step 2

Take note of the location of your appliances and provide us with basic dimensions:

  1. Is it a cooktop or a free standing range? How wide is it?
  2. Fridge height and width
  3. Wine fridge width
  4. Dishwasher width
  5. Trash compactor width
  6. Etc.

Step 3

Bring your layout and measurements to our showroom for a free consultation and a free quote. We can discuss layout options that will best maximize your space and meet your specific needs.

Demetra Cabinetry Renovation Underway

We’re getting ready for our new kitchen display layout! The guys are working hard building boxes, prepping walls, and installing cabinets. Demolition of our existing display took only an hour-ish. Prep work was another 2+ hours. And installation will take about 2-3 days. Next step: picking out granite!

From Bay Home Concepts to Demetra Cabinetry

Hello! Welcome to our first blog post. We are delighted to have our brand transformation underway. For those who have shopped with us before, you may be wondering why we switched our name from Bay Home Concepts to Demetra Cabinetry. We began as Bay Home Concepts in 2006 to provide products that we couldn’t find when we were going through our own remodel – quality materials that were durable, high quality construction that would last for years, and a low price point we can actually afford. Rather than depending solely on other manufacturers, we began Demetra Cabinetry under Bay Home Concepts to produce and manufacture our own line of cabinets that meet our standards.

As our cabinet business grew, we noticed that more and more people were searching for and purchasing Demetra cabinets. In an effort to focus on our core strength and lessen confusion, Demetra Cabinetry, Inc. was born. We are now able to concentrate on product development to design better cabinets for you; cabinets that are contemporary, affordable, and flexible to fit your unique space.

Over the next few months, you will see updated cabinet displays and new door styles and colors. You will see storefront renovations and new products. If you have any questions or have suggestions for future products, we would love to hear from you. You can leave a comment in our comments section, or feel free to email us at info@demetracabinetry.com. Thanks for visiting and check back often for to see what we’re up to!
